Important Notes
Don't Follow Directions... Receive No Credit
You must follow these directions exactly or you will not be able to receive credit for your MyITLab assignments.  In particular, make sure that your Student ID is correctly specified as indicated in Step 13.

Student IDs
Did we mention that you must correctly specify your Student ID to receive credit?  If the Student ID isn't set properly, you will receive no credit at all for your MyITLab work for the entire semester.

Keycodes 
If you are new to MyITLab, you need to have a new keycode.  These are normally acquired through the CS101 textbook bundle, but you can also purchase them directly from Prentice Hall.
 
Registration Instructions
Returning Users
These directions are primarily for new MyITLab users.  Returning users can use these directions starting at Step 7 to add their new course section to their existing MyITLab account.
 
Registration Instructions for New Users
Step 1: Go to the MyITLab website.
To begin, go to http://www.myitlab.com.
 
Step 2: Start the registration process.
Click the link saying that you are a a first-time student user.
 
 
Step 3: Accept the License Agreement
Click the I Accept button to indicate that you accept the MyITLab license agreement.  This is required to use the software and participate in CS101.
 
Step 4: Do I have an existing Pearson Education account?
Unless your absolutely positive that you haven't created an account for MyITLab or another Pearson MyLab product, you should indicate that you're not sure if you have an existing account.  Enter your MIX e-mail address and search for an account.


If you have an existing account, the search will tell you.  Details on how to login to the account will be sent to your MIX e-mail address.  In this case, login to MyITLab using the information e-mailed to you and then jump to Step 8 below.  Otherwise, continue by creating a new Pearson Education account.

Step 5: I'm a new user.
Tell the system that you do not have a Pearson Education account.  You'll need to makeup a login name (using your MIX e-mail address generally is a good choice for this, but be sure to check availability) and a password.  The password must be at least 8 characters long and include a letter and a number.

You'll also need to enter a new MyITLab access code from your cardboard packet at this step.


Step 6: Enter your personal information.
At this step, you'll need to provide your legal first and last name and MIX e-mail address.  Indicate that you're from the United States, the school ZIP code is 26506, and that the school name is WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY.  Answer the security question and decide if you want to opt out of Pearson mailings.


Step 7: Login to MyITLab.
You'll now get a confirmation page.  Click the Log In Now button to enter MyITLab.

 
Step 8: Enroll in a Course
Click the Enroll in a Course button to register for your CS101 section.
 
Step 9:  Enter the Course ID
Enter the Course ID for your section.  A list of course sections and their Course IDs is available on the MyITLab Registration page.
 
 
Step 10: Confirm Course
Confirm that you selected the right course by clicking the Confirm button.
 
 
Step 11: Enter the Course
Click the Enter Course Now button to enter the MyITLab site for your CS101 section.
 
Step 12: Edit Your Profile
In the top-right corner of the screen, click on the My Profile link.

Step 13: Specify Your Student ID
In the resulting dialog box, enter your MasterID username in the Student ID field.  Then click the Save button.  The data in the Student ID field is what is being used to match your records for grading, so if you enter this wrong you may not receive any credit for your assignments.
