Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

About Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly DreamSpark and Imagine) is a program that allows for students in enrolled Computer Science departments to obtain free, legal licenses for a variety of Microsoft software.  The computer science departments at WVU and WVU Tech (Beckley) are members of this program, so CS101 students are eligible.

What software is available?

Azure Dev Tools for Teaching provides a variety of operating systems, server, and development software. Of particular interest to CS101 students, licenses are available for Microsoft Windows 11.

What do I need to get started?

All CS101 students should receive an e-mail near the beginning of the semester with login instructions. This is generally sent during the second or third week of class. If you did not receive this e-mail and are a Morgantown student, e-mail dreamspark@support.lcseesystems.net for assistance. WVU Tech (Beckley) students should e-mail Dr. Ranjith Munasinghe at ranjith.munasinghe@mail.wvu.edu.

How do I download software?

You can download software through the Azure website. Your MIX e-mail address is your username. You should have received an e-mail in your MIX account with details on the password.
