Updating data with an Update Query

An update query changes the data values in one or more fields for all records that meet specific criteria [1]. Before updating data in a table, we must locate the records that need to be modified. To do that, we create a select query. We can then convert the select query to an update query by using the option in Query Type group of the ribbon.

Deleting records with a Delete Query

A delete query selects records from a table and then removes them from the table [1]. Be careful when running delete queries as they generally cannot be undone without restoring from a backup file.

Finding duplicate records with a query

Sometimes tables have duplicate data. Having duplicate data can sometimes display wrong results. We can identify duplicate data with Find Duplicates Query created using the Query Wizard [1].

Find unmatched records with a query

A Find Unmatched Query compares records in two related tables and displays the records found in one table but not the other. We can create this query using the Query Wizard [1].
